The world is turning

Here at. RealEd, I believe education should ignite the mind rather than enforce rote compliance. By exploring fundamental physics, atmospheric dynamics, and the mechanics of flight, I encourage learners to look past textbook summaries and truly interrogate how our world works.

Rotational momentum and planetary motion

Earth spins at a  speed of 1,600 KPH (1000 MPH), carrying everything on its surface along with it. Real understanding begins when we ask why we don't feel this velocity in our day-to-day lives, prompting curious minds to delve deeper into inertia, coordinate frames, and planetary physics.

So Why do planes need engines to fly?

If the planet is turning beneath us, why can't an aircraft simply hover and wait for its destination to arrive below it?

Because our atmosphere moves with the Earth, at the same speed as earth.

Without powerful engines generating thrust and lift, gravity and drag will take hold, and planes would simply fall to Earth.

Llearning Physics starts breaking down these mechanical principles.
