Support those who support you
This vital subject remains close to my heart. I didnt just become a serving Coastguard Officer, the Coastguard helped make me. Discover the invaluable work of His Majesty's Coastguard and the critical assistance offered by the Coast Guard Association (CGA). Your support empowers those who dedicate their lives to helping communities in times of need.

The vital role of HM Coastguard
HM Coastguard provides a 24-hour search and rescue service, protecting life at sea and along the UK coastline. From coordinating helicopter rescue (Air/Sea), to coordinating and assisting the RNLI, the Police, Fire & Rescue, Ambulance, Royal Navy OED (bomb disposal), to welcoming the US Coastguard, by representing the entire United Kingdom, and having breakfast with the crew who were on passage to the Arctic Circle on board their Ice Breaker!
Very few, if any, can ever claim to being piped aboard an incredible vessel like that upon arrival, but I still hold that honour, and that proud memory.
The AA made up a ridiculous advert campaign claiming that they were the 4th emergency service, but a flat tyre really is nothing, compared to the real, invaluable work of the Coastguard service. Their teams are always ready to respond when disaster strikes, there's no place for babies, when your paged, you go and you deal with whatever you're tasked to deal with, and you just do it, with pride, as you represent the Crown of the United Kingdom.
Coastguard teams really are the frontline heroes, who brave treacherous, and often very dangerous conditions to bring people to safety, offering reassurance and expert assistance in the most challenging situations.

The crucial support of the Coastguard Association
Behind the immediate rescue efforts, the Coastguard Association plays a superb role in assisting Coastguard personnel if they ever fall on hard times themselves.
They provide welfare support, financial aid, and a sense of community for those who dedicate their lives to public service. This ensures that these lifesavers are looked after, both during and after their service, allowing them to continue their essential work with peace of mind.
