When precisely were the Dark Ages? Did 1000 years just vanish? And why are they known by such a name? How come we are told that jesus appeared on earth and performed miracles over 2000 years ago, and we are told that the "un authored" bible was written to prove that part of history, but 1000 years of much more recent history isn't documented 🤔

Defining a period of shadows
The term "Dark Ages" often conjures images of intellectual decline and/or societal stagnation. Traditionally, this period is considered to span from the collapse of the Western Roman Empire in the 5th century to the Renaissance in the 15th century.
But is this a truly accurate representation of history, or maybe a label that demands closer scrutiny?
Why the 'dark' designation?
Streetlights obviousy hadn't been invented back then? 🤣
So why have many historians attributed the "darkness" to a perceived lack of historical records, a decline in cultural output, and periods of political instability following the Roman Empire's fall. If there's a lack of historical records, how do we know the Royal Family are legitimate? Or possibly Hijacking other people's status' was just "the norm" However, recent scholarships have challenged this view, highlighting significant advancements and vibrant cultures that existed during this time, however these discoveries do appear to be kept quite 'low key'.
