It is what it is

RealEd is a United Kingdom online education site created from a simple conviction: do not be mistaken: education should help people develop strong, independent minds for life. After a long time spent in education, I believe it is time to stop using children as a means to an end and start supporting them to grow into educated adults.

Question what you are taught

RealEd began as an idea worth testing: I do not believe that learning should just  be seen as a means to repeating rote. formation, passing tests or accepting assumptions. I create and share educational resources, articles and ideas that invite learners, parents and educators to look closely, ask better questions and think for themselves. The aim is not to tell anyone what to think, but to help them learn how to think.

Build a mind that can handle life

Througout or lives,, we enncounter peaks and troughs,, and I believe A strong educational background helps to prepare people for both.

Rather than abusing young minds with narrow expectations, through RealEd, I advocate for learning that builds curiosity, judgement, resilience and self-awareness.

Education is not only preparation for work; it is preparation for making sense of the world, one decision at a time.

Pay attention, and never assume.

“It is what it is” is not an excuse to stop thinking. It is a reminder to meet reality with honesty, pay attention to other people and resist easy conclusions.

RealEd exists to raise awareness, share thought-provoking posts and offer educational opportunities online for people who want to examine what they hear before deciding what they believe.
