Understanding your own thinking

Today, the word 'Meta' appears to have been hijacked. However it belongs to cognition,  but I believe true education goes beyond memorising facts. It's about developing the ability to understand your own cognitive processes – in what's known as call metacognition. This is where real growth begins.

What is metacognition?

Metacognition is essentially having the ability of "thinking about your own thinking.

"It's having the ability to think about, and understand your own thought processes, your ability to understand how you learn, remember, and solve problems. It's about stepping back and observing your mind at work.

For everyone, at every age

Whether you're a student, a professional, a parent, or simply curious about how your mind works, metacognition is a skill that everyone can develop.

Having this skill will  empower you to take control of your learning journey and optimise your intellectual potential.

We never need to stop learning, unless we choose to.

Fuel your own informed personal growth

My educational approach, here at RealEd, focuses on fostering this critical skill. I believe that by understanding and developing your metacognitive abilities, you can unlock unparalleled personal and intellectual growth. It's about building a better you.

Essentially it's about "being you, being inquisitive, and thinking.

Achieving metacognition

I believe that the ultimate goal is to achieve true metacognition, many people refer to this as an 'awakening' which creates a profound awareness of your thoughts, feelings, and actions. It's a journey of self-discovery that is truly worth working for, and leading to a more aware and effective you.
