My own theory of today's education
Now here's a slightly different page, in fact more of a personal experience creating a question, but first a bit of context: one night over Easter 2025, the Easter Bunney brought me an Easter Present, which of course will be seen as "hooray" and "how lovely" and "baby bunnies are so cute" in today's world, but believe me, go and have a brain haemorrhage in your sleep, which obviously causes Brain damage, and then try talking to me again about 'baby bunnies'.
So after spending a couple of months, and of course, failing to get to see my GP, I drove myself into the local Hospital A&E to try and get some help. I saw a great Irish Doctor there, and we got chatting. He asked Me what I thought was wrong with me, so I gave him my own diagnosis, He then immediately had me transferred to have an MRI Brain scan, and we both sat in his office afterwards where he showed me the imagery of the damage to my brain, and asked me if I'd ever considered being a Dr, because my diagnosis was absolutely correct. Now I do have a very long 'secondary career' involving Search & Resue, but sadly, mostly suicide recoveries, so not one I will ever detail online out of reslect, but I was trained in medical treatments, but only very specific to the works I did, certainly not in the field of nuerology.
I struggled through, on my own, until the end of November, when my GP at that time decided, without even discussing with me, to reduce my repeat prescription by removing the blood thinning tablets that had been prescribed for me based on one MRI Brain Scan & subsequent Ultrasound scans to check for any Deep Vein Thrombosis (fortunately DVT's were clear) so the medication I was taking was a 'preventative action' to ensure no future possible DVT's could form. I wasn't happy about this, but this 'Dr' just thought He knew better, until Fr Christmas brought me a stroke in 2025 which lead to a blue lights Ambulance, so for the first time I got to travel in a 999 vehicle, on 'blues 'n twos' without driving it 🤣
This time I was taken to another hospital equipped with a specialist unit, and after another MRI Brain Scan, numerous new Ultrasound scans, and 9 days in a hospital bed, and my Christmas was over.
However, after telling the 18 yr old 'follow up physiotherapist', who seemed to be alot more focussed on telling me she has an NQV level 2 'stiificat' (or a Not Very Qualified Level 2 certificate as I called it when I was lecturing) to leave,
I decided to personally devise my own physiotherapy for my double brain damage, as I really wont have anymore assumptive clowns asking me if my legs dont work because of a car accident. So knowing a bit about the brain, and the importance of connected cognition due to my own experiences in first studying to be, and decades of then being a Qualified and registered Lecturer, I wrote up my own brain physiotherapy as mentioned above, and religiously stuck to my plan, and wrote this entire website as part of my plan to 'exercise' all areas of my brain, including hand/eye coordination, and my memory (cognition), So, after that lengthy context, (sorry) I'm fairly sure you'll be glad to hear my much shorter question: do you think that me having a good education may have had something to do with me studying for, and qualifying a phD in sciences, which I also personally chose to do as part of my own physiotherapy following double brain damage? Or today's 'Dr' (of course money does talk these days, and boiler room scams are very real, and today's little Miss 'car crash'? but I digress).
(I requested that my Title was honored as Professor because I believe that Prof is far more suited to someone with decades spent in Education personally, plus I really don't want any reminders of the 'Dr' who stupidly nearly killed me, to save a few quid, and the subsequent disabilities I now struggle with. Learning to walk again is my current mission, but my Brain's doing well again already, so a bit of brain/muscular coordination work hopefully wont be as difficult, which is quite inspiring 👍
This may sound rude but it's certainly not meant to be. I believe that the changes in education from what I learnt, to today, has been deliberate.
